James Cameron’s latest film, Avatar 2: The Way of Water, has made history in India by surpassing the lifetime collection of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame and becoming the highest grossing Hollywood film of all time in India. As of now, Avatar 2 has collected a nett amount of Rs 368.20 crore, surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s Rs 367 crore nett collection. Industry experts predict that Avatar 2 may end its run in India with a total nett collection of Rs 395 crore.
In terms of global box office, Avatar 2: The Way of Water has currently earned $1.95 billion, making it the sixth highest grossing film of all time, behind other top earners such as Avatar ($2.92 billion), Avengers: Endgame ($2.79 billion), Titanic ($2.18 billion), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.06 billion) and Avengers: Infinity War ($2.04 billion). It is expected to close its business after collecting approximately $2.10 billion.
