Pathaan

The story revolves around India’s decision to revoke Article 370 (the special status of Jammu and Kashmir) and how it affects a Pakistani officer played by Shah Rukh Khan who demands compensation from India for its “error.” He extends an olive branch to the imposing Jim, played by John Abraham, an ex-RAW agent who was wronged by his own people. He is joined by his seductive partner Rubai, a former ISI agent played by Deepika Padukone, who has murky motivations. As they move between countries and engage in a risky game of betrayal and retaliation, Pathaan, Jim, and Rubai lock horns and lock eyes. The three compete to obliterate and defend the worlds they hold dear.

Controversy regarding Pathaan

According to a media source, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered more than ten edits to the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone movie. Following the release of its first song, Besharam Rang, the Siddharth Anand-directed movie sparked controversy. Deepika’s orange bathing outfit from the song hasn’t been cut, though.

According to a CBFC document, the word ‘RAW’ is replaced with ‘Hamare’, ‘Langde Lulle’ is replaced with ‘Toote Foote’, and ‘PM’ is replaced with ‘President or Minister’. Furthermore, the word ‘PMO’ has reportedly been removed from as many as 13 scenes in Pathan.
