MIAMI, Okla — Hardy Watkins, executive director of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department will be the featured speaker at the April 1 Chamber Business Connection Luncheon.
"It will be an honor to introduce Hardy Watkins to Miami and the surrounding area," said Cindy Morris, Miami Chamber executive director/chairman of the Miami Convention and Visitor Bureau.
The luncheon is hosted by Cable One and the Miami Area Chamber of Commerce/Miami Convention and Visitor Bureau.
Watkins will present “How Tourism Impacts Oklahoma” and discuss Miami’s impact on the tourism revenue for the State of Oklahoma. The luncheon will be held at the Coleman Theatre beginning promptly at 11:30 a.m.
Joining Watkins at the podium will be Amanda Davis, Miami Convention and Visitor Bureau program director, to present the 2009 marketing plan designed to increase the promotion of Miami. The Miami Area Chamber will also take to the podium with the announcement of a new festival scheduled for October, 2009.
"We will be introducing Miami and the area tourism attractions to Mr. Watkins and the State of Oklahoma during the morning hours on April 1 during a driving tour and actual visits to Miami attractions. We are excited to have the opportunity to further promote Miami as a visitor destination," Morris said.
Early-bird registration cost for the luncheon is $9 per member/$12 non-chamber members if made by 5 p.m., Tuesday, March 27. Cost after March 27 is $12 per member/$15 non-chamber member.
