JOPLIN, Mo. — McAlister's Deli is headed to Joplin.
The deli will open in late-September near the intersection of 24th Street and Range Line Road and will be located in the new Park Plaza strip mall, which is currently under construction.
McAlister's is a franchise operation offered by the McAlister's Corporation in Ridgeland, Miss. The Joplin franchisee is Craig Brothell who will have 16 McAlister Delis in operation once the local facility is complete. Brothell, a Tulsa businessman operates 13 other McAlister's Deli's and has two additional stores under construction. In addition to the Joplin operation, one store in Wichita and one in Manhattan, Kansa are also being built.
The 4,200-square-foot operation will employ 50 people and will be open seven days a week.
When asked why he opening his 16th deli in Joplin, he said, "Its size, its demographics and its steady growth make Joplin and ideal location."
