Huawei is all set to launch its Huawei Mate 40 lineup of next-generation Mate-series flagship smartphones on 22nd October. The devices will be powered by the Kirin 9000 chipset owned by the company. Most of the details were already leaked online prior to the official launch of smartphones. Now, details have surfaced online about the Kirin 9000 chipset, shedding light on the graphics portion. Let’s have a look at it

The upcoming Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC is seen sporting a 24-core GPU, as per the latest data shared by well-known leaker Ice Universe via a benchmark screenshot. The chipset appeared on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform last week, which revealed that it scored 693K+, almost on par with the Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC, but had better graphics processing results. It is noted that to distribute the load and keep devices energy efficient, the Mali G78-MP24 GPU is clocked at lower frequencies.

Due to the sanctions imposed by the United States, Huawei has been facing a lot of problems lately in terms of the supply chain. As a consequence, the company has a limited number of Kirin 9000 chipsets and, at least for the time being, the SoC could also be the last flagship chipset of the company. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC and the Samsung Exynos 1080 SoC will be up against the Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 9000, both of which are expected to power next year’s launch of smartphones.
