Features Of BharOS
BharOS is a homegrown mobile Operating System. It is just like Android or iOS which are predominantly used by Netizens. Systems like these help people to use their phones and their features safely and in a secure manner. This is a major step towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat. It will provide a safe environment for India-based users. It will lessen the dependency of Indian mobile phone users on foreign-based Mobile operating systems.
BharOS is Made In India
IIT Madras makes BharOS. The OS can be installed on commercial off-the-shelf handsets. Applications that passed the security standards, only then they will be included. However, it is called indigenous, but the global market of this century cannot prepare an OS system without any help from outside the country. It would be an exaggeration to say that BharOS is indigenous and that too fully.
New And Modified Features
BharOS comes with NDA(No Default Apps) which helps the OS by restricting the installation of default apps. The installation of such default apps slows down mobile phones and their batteries. According to IIT Madras, NDA is a very important feature as it will help the users have more control over the installation of apps and the data saved in them. BharOS has NOTA (Native Over the Air) which fixes bugs etc. on its own without taking care of updates of applications. It will have PASS(Private App Store Services). It finds out and regulates the users to find a secure app instead of any other one which might be a danger to users’ safety, security, and privacy. Users can use other apps as long as they fulfill the PASS standards.
BharOS vs Android OS
Android OS is a foreign-based Mobile Operating System whereas BharOS is India’s first home-grown mobile operating system that not only gives safety and privacy to Indian users but also is available only for Indians it is launched recently by IIT Madras which has a tricolor marked on its system. BharOS comes with NDA whereas there is no NDA in Android OS. Users will be able to choose from the BharOS app store as well. It is a user-friendly Operating System. It not only gives its users, the liberty but also a chance to choose from other sources as well as long as those apps fulfill the PASS criteria.
Upcoming Future
BharOS has been serving various organizations as they needed a secure platform for security and privacy conditions. However, it is yet not been disclosed when it will be available for mainstream internet users. It is said that 5G services will help users to navigate through this mobile operating system. Apart from its past, it has proved that it has an operating system that has dependable features and that it puts security as a priority and it makes BharOS more reliable and valid.
