The upcoming Hogwarts Legacy by Portkey Games will be the biggest video game adaptation of the world of school-aged wizards. This new open-world RPG, which will let you enroll at the school for witchcraft and wizardry, is the most wish-listed game on Steam right now.
The story of Hogwarts Legacy transports players to the wizarding world around the 1800s, which is 100 years prior to the events in the Harry Potter books. In the game, you experience a new and original story where you play as a fifth-year student at Hogwarts who gained late admission because you possess the key to a dangerous “ancient secret” that poses a threat to the wizarding world.
GAMEPLAY
Hogwarts Legacy transforms spell-casting into a third-person action experience where you cast spells in combat and perform dodge-rolls. To progress in the game, you must utilize the spells learned in class to overcome combat challenges and complete puzzles in Hogwarts and surrounding areas. Additionally, you can engage in potion brewing and herbology to produce items for combat such as scream-inducing Mandrakes and potent potions to throw at enemies.
HOGWARTS LEGACY TRAILER
On September 16, 2020, during a Sony PS5 event, the team behind Hogwarts Legacy unveiled the trailer for the game.This trailer, which is available to watch, showcases the most extensive game set in the Harry Potter world so far. The teaser provides a quick glimpse of Hogwarts in the 1800s, different classes, and a brief glimpse of the sorting hat ceremony.
RELEASE DATE
There is a Hogwarts Legacy early access period, which kicks off on February 7 for pre-order customers. On February 10, 2023, the team behind it plans to release the game for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Hogwarts Legacy is planned to release for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but the release has been postponed until later in the year. WB Games says that PS4 and Xbox One players will need to wait until April 4, 2023 to play the game, while the Switch version will come out July 25, 2023.
