Scarlett Johansson signs a deal to star and produce Disney’s upcoming ‘Tower of Terror’

Born in 1984 on November 22, Scarlett Johansson is a well-known and very popular American actress and singer. In 2018 and 2019, she has been ranked as the highest-paid actress in the world and has appeared on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list several times. Owning $14.3 billion in the worldwide box office, Johansson is said to be the ninth-highest grossing box office star and the highest-grossing actress of all the time.

The 36 years old actress and singer will now have her hands as a producer and is currently working on her new project with Disney. As per Collider reports, the starring actress approved to play a role in the thriller upcoming movie “Tower Of Terror” which was announced even before the general release of the Disney and Marvel superhero picture Black Widow. Disney is now aiming to hit gold once again by filming a drama mounted on a very well-known and famous theme park at the Happiest Place on Earth after following the footsteps of Pirates of the Caribbean and the forthcoming Jungle Cruise. Josh Cooley, the director of Toy Story 4 and the writer of Inside Out, is presently writing the screenplay, but no story specifics have been revealed so yet.

In 1997, Tower of Terror was originally made to be viewed on television as “The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror”  where Steve Guttenberg played the role of a reporter who is working to solve the mystery of 1930’s hotel where people vanished mysteriously and Kirsten Dunst was seen playing the role of his niece. The movie was based on Rod Serling’s series “The Twilight Zone” which took set at fictitious Hollywood Tower Hotel in Hollywood, California.  The story revolves around a strange tower followed by a scary elevator free-fall. The fictitious story places passengers in a seemingly ordinary hotel elevator, where people mysteriously disappeared many decades previously while under the influence of some supernatural element.

Fans did appreciate the movie and its Twilight Zone theme. However, Disney is now working to bring new adaptations so that the movie can gain popularity. It has hired John August to develop a script about five individuals in a fancy hotel who take an elevator and then vanish when it is struck by lightning.

Disney has already found success with films based on its attractions, with Pirates of the Caribbean producing 5 blockbusters that earned a total of $4.5 billion. The Tower of Terror development will come as Disney prepares to introduce a new interesting ride feature that would amaze the fans. The film Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, will be released on July 30.
