Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 2 was originally scheduled to be released on February 1, 2023. However, the developers recently announced a delay in the Season update patch for two weeks, implying that the launch date for Season 2 is now February 15, 2023. Fans are looking forward to a host of changes to both games. However, in terms of new content and updates, the battle royale title and its DMZ mode have received the most attention this time around.
New Features arriving in Call of Duty Warzone 2 Season 2
Activision has released the first teaser clip for the upcoming Resurgence map and is introducing a brand-new map for Season 2 of the game.
- Â Classic Modern Warfare (2019) Ronin Operator will also be seeing a comeback. The Operator in the previous iteration of the shooter title had Samurai skins that added a unique flair to the character.
- Along with the massive Al Mazrah map in Warzone 2, Ashika Island will act as a smaller map for the respawn modes in the battle royale. This map is expected to be similar in size to previous Resurgence maps, like Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.
- The presence of Japanese text in the teaser supports earlier speculation and leaks that Season 2 would have a Japanese theme.
- Activision has confirmed that the DMZ mode will be reset for a new start, Al Mazrah will feature a classic 1v1 Gulag, and significant improvements will be made to both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 in terms of quality of life.
- Â Various crashes and bugs have been addressed, prior to the start of Season 2. An update on January 30 resolved stability issues, and the patch released on January 20 included fixes for chat and battle pass bugs.
Season 1 Reloaded of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 are now live on PC (via Battle.net and Steam), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
