The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, commonly known as RodeoHouston or HLSR, is the world’s biggest livestock show and rodeo. It features one of the most lucrative professional rodeo events throughout the regular season. Since 2003, it has been hosted in NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Previously, it was hosted at the Astrodome. It is regarded as the “signature event” of the city. RodeoHouston is a major event that strives to promote agriculture, educate and amuse the public, assist Texas kids, highlight the Western history, and give educational support. Since its debut in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has donated more than $500 million to Texas kids and education. Besides Covid-19, the rodeo has a total educational contribution of more than $21.69 million for the 2021 season.

Lisa Gagnon graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a master’s degree in business administration. Lisa Gagnon and her husband, together with their 11-year-old daughter, live in Houston.

Lisa Gagnon has led her team on a number of projects throughout her tenure at the Rodeo, including market segmentation, crisis communications, advertising campaigns, and consumer research via surveys and focus groups. She also developed Rodeo’s first marketing strategy, redesigned its advertising campaign, and supervised the 2019 Economic Impact Study.

Lisa Gagnon previously worked as the vice president of marketing for the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee, where she was in charge of all marketing, brand management, and fan engagement activities. She is a vibrant leader in the Houston community, serving as a WISE Houston board member and committee chairwoman, as well as actively mentoring young women in the sports and events business.

Lisa Gagnon has been appointed to chief marketing officer of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the organization announced today. She will be in charge of the Marketing, Public Relations, and Presentations Division, which comprises Brand, Broadcast & Audio Visual, Communications, and Merchandise.

Rodeo president and CEO Chris Boleman said, “Lisa has raised the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s brand and appearance to those of professional sporting events since joining the organization in 2017. As we prepare to commemorate the Rodeo’s 90th anniversary in 2022 and beyond, I am certain that Lisa’s creative marketing techniques and customer insights will be critical.”
